Get Ready to Ref

If you have any trouble, please contact Sarah Wheeler, Training League Administrator, at swheeler@trainingleague.org or by phone/text at 402.603.0030.

Step 1: Get Certified

All referees must be certified with US Soccer through Nebraska Referee Development Program (NRDP). The first time you will take a online course and an on-field training to get your badge. After that you will get recertified annually. Both of these are done through the US Soccer Learning Center.

Step 2: Stack Officials

We assign all of our games through Stack Officials. We will create your Stack Officials account, but you will need finish setting it up.

You will get an email after getting certified as a referee that will take you to set up your Stack Officials account. Do Not create your own account.

Once you’ve received the email and set up your account, you want to make sure this information is all updated and correct:

  • Email & Phone number (this is how your assignors and other refs will contact you if needed!)

  • Payment Information (most league and tournaments pay referees by direct deposit so you won’t be able to get games without your payment profile set up!)

TIP*
The Stack Officials profile will be set up using the email you provided when you registered to become a referee in the US Soccer Learning Center. If you don’t see this email message check your spam!

Step 3: Get Games!

Now you are ready to add games to your schedule! There are a few ways referees get added to games so here are some tips to get started:

You can find games and assign your self to the ones that fit your schedule. Every games you see on your dashboard is a Training League game and the perfect level for you to get started.

You will be able to see the location, age group and if other referees or trainers are already assigned to that game. If there isn’t we will fill those spots as quickly as possible so don’t worry about going at it alone!

Self Assigning Games

Our Training League assignors might also place you on games that fit your schedule (make sure your availability is up to date to make this easier!). You will get an email when this happens and you can accept those games, or decline if you need to. Try to accept/decline games ASAP so our assignors can fill other spots!

If you have any questions or concerns, let your assignor or Sarah know and we are happy to help!
